This seminar will provide an overview of the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) Draft Guidance for Evaluating the Vapor Intrusion To Indoor Air Pathway from Groundwater and Soils. Notice of this guidance (opening for public comment) was recently published in the Federal Register (11/29/02) and is available at www.epa.gov/fedrgstr. The comment period for this draft guidance remains open through Feb. 27, 2003 and this seminar is intended to help introduce potential commentators to this guidance and provide a limited opportunity for questions. Comments on the guidance may be submitted (and viewed) via EPA Dockets (available at www.epa.gov/edocket, Docket ID No. RCRA-2002-0033) or via other methods specified in the FR notice. The guidance document is available at the EPA Dockets site or directly at www.epa.gov/correctiveaction/eis/vapor.htm.

Seminar participants will hear representatives of the guidance's workgroup describe; some of the key backgroud information that lead to the development of the guidance, but this seminar will primarily focus on the contents of the guidance in order to familiarize participants to specific areas of the guidance they may want to comment on.
