Catherine Allen works in OSWER's Center for Program Analysis. She
co-chairs the EPA Climate Change and Contaminated Lands Working Group
that is advancing green remediation, renewable energy development, and
carbon sequestration. Prior to working in OSWER, Cathy managed EPA's
Office of International Affairs International Environmental Health
program and supported Agency preparations for the UN Commission on
Sustainable Development and the World Summit on Sustainable Development.
She enjoyed a two-year stint as a Mansfield Fellow, living in Japan and
assigned to Government of Japan Offices addressing climate change,
voluntary standards and certification programs, and sustainable life
cycle practices in the economy. Cathy began her career in Regions 5's
Water Division and served as the Region 5 Pollution Prevention
Coordinator, ISO 14000 voluntary standard coordinator, and workgroup
leader charged with improving cross-media performance of Regional
programs. She has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in
Political Science from Stanford University and an M.S. in Environmental
Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
