Kathleen S. Smith is an aqueous geochemist with the U. S. Geological Survey in Denver, Colorado. Kathy has spent the past 20 years working at mining sites. Her research interests include water/rock interactions, metal speciation and transport processes, mine-waste characterization, and metal bioavailability. Kathy holds a Ph.D. in Geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines.
