The desktop edition of the Brownfields Inventory Tool (BIT) operates from and stores site data on an individual personal computer. Tribes, Cities, and regional coalitions can use BIT to create site inventories; submit reports such as the multiple property profile form to the EPA; and log emergency response and other administrative information about brownfields and other environmental programs. The desktop edition was requested by tribal stakeholders, to provide an added level of data security by storage of information on a user's personal computer instead of on an outside server connected to the internet. The Desktop Edition can be downloaded from the BIT web page at http://www.tab-bit.org or by going directly to
http://tab-bit.org/BitDesktop/BitInstaller.exe.
